Keep Calm and Endure

As the year draws to a close, many have had unimaginable challenges. We want 2021 to go away. Sadly, some could not wait for the new year and believed the enemy’s lie that death was their only escape. It might seem rough, but I promise that God has a word that will bring life.

We won’t understand the trials apart from His wisdom.

Apart from the Holy Spirit, we do not have within us what it takes to comprehend God’s view of life. Therefore, when we are in trials, we desire to escape and not to endure! If we would pause and ask God to help us understand, God will gladly open our spiritual eyes and our hearts so that we will have the insight to stick it out. He will give us clarity as often as we need it if we ask.

There is a catch, though: when we ask Him for insight into His wisdom, we must be ready to receive what He says without a doubt, without selfish motives, without a mindset prepared to reject what He reveals. Sickness, death, pain, disappointment are sometimes a part of God’s plan! (Isaiah 45:7)

Suppose we don’t fully believe that God is loyal and all-powerful, no matter what He reveals His purpose to be. In that case, we will be driven by something other than confidence in God and reliance on the Holy Spirit. It is a difficult position to be in if we cannot accept God’s will because of our worries and uncertainties…

He doesn’t ask us to trust Him blindly – He only asks that we come to Him (and not lean on our own understanding) for our eyes to be opened! If we do not want life’s demands to dictate our actions and thoughts, we must purpose to ALWAYS accept God’s will. Knowing that in His faithfulness and strength, He will give us the knowledge to see life through His eyes and that He is trustworthy to work all things for our benefit and His glory. Very cool when you think about it …

The beauty of it — the thing that makes it marvelous for believers in God; in believers in Jesus Christ is the fact that we KNOW that all things work together for good for those of us who have affections for him and attention from Him – Romans 8:28. So Happy New Year!!  Endure!!

If you’re reading this and do not know the truth – I do pray that you will not start a new year in the same place ….

An Invitation to Believe in a Truth that is REAL

If you have never believed in Christ, let me just tell you for sure that there’s a beautiful life that you can have on this earth if you believe! Peace on the inside comes! Perseverance in difficulty comes! Freedom from any addiction comes! A true relationship with Almighty God comes! A life that never ends comes! If you want to receive Him, you’ve got to believe in Him.

  • We need salvation! We all have sinned and are not worthy of His presence and that sin will send us into true death, while belief in Christ will give us life that is eternal!
  • God gives us salvation! He sent the only son He has to a place of severe discipline, and this Son – whose name is Jesus – took the hit and paid to God what our sin caused us to owe.
  • Receive what He has given! Believe in Jesus Christ, believe in the truth that He took the hit for all of your wrongdoing to bring you into the right relationship with God. Call His name and tell Him that you believe.

If you truly believe I’m telling you that you will have peace in your heart that you cannot even explain. I’m telling you that you have now been reconciled to a good relationship with God – The Father, The Creator, The Almighty One.

If you’ve come to Christ as you read these words, connect with a group of people near you who are believers, profess your belief and be taught. Find a group near so that you can truly keep your connection real. Need help finding a place to know Him better? Click here to email us, we will gladly help you.

The Wilderness …

The wilderness of this world. Have you ever thought about that? The wilderness of this world. In old English, the word (wildēornes) means land inhabited only by wild animals. Have you ever thought about that?

I could see the world right now while I was thinking about that term. Wild animals are fully self-sufficient. They find a home in a location that fits their needs. They live in an environment that provides them with the food and space that their species needs. They disguise themselves to blend in with any area they find themselves in, allowing them to avoid predators and stay healthy during harsh weather. Animals who only consume plants are eaten by meat-eating animals. They all go to rivers and ponds to get the water they need to survive. Habitat degradation, climate change, illegal trafficking, pollution, climate change, and other factors are putting them all at risk. Have you given it any thought?

For the time being, we depend on people to survive. Farmers, water treatment facilities, physicians, nurses, grocery stores, building crews, general contractors, security firms, air conditioning and heating companies, airlines, lodging facilities, hotels, entertainment industries, power companies, and so much more are all essential for our survival. This can be considered self-sufficient in the sense that people depend on one another. We settle in places that fulfill our needs for culture, low taxes, proximity to work, comfort, and proximity to family and friends, among other things. We make adjustments to fit in at work, in the church group where we serve, among new friends, and to interact with our neighbors, among other things. We do this to hide from people who might see something we have and go for it, as well as people who might notice that we have nothing. We all see others who think like us as members of our people group, and others as members of another. Many who believe in Christ divide themselves from one another due to differing behavioral values. We don’t allow our faith in Christ to remind us that He died for all and that those who believe in Him are members of His Body. Some of us would not go across the line to join the rest. Some of us tend to associate with other Christians of various kinds. For the sake of the Gospel, some of us communicate with everyone. Some of us would rather be with our own race or ethnicity. Some of us are just interested in our own political party. Some of us would rather be with people our own age. Humans just want to make sure that the teaching of God’s Word is strong around us, but even that divides us because each people group believes that they are right. It’s the middle of nowhere. Have you given it any thought?

Difficulties come in the wilderness. And we’re in it. All of us lean into what we think is right, what we think is needed and we cast others to the side. We judge, with hate, those who do not walk down the same political path and we seek to destroy them. We have no care in our hearts for those who don’t look like us …. red and yellow; black and white … many of us see no need for us to be together. We condemn those who have differing behavioral beliefs within the Body of Christ …. women wear dresses, men rule, what the filling of the Holy Spirit looks like, ordination of women, liturgies only, sacraments observed … and SO much more. The bottom line is this … Our Dependence is Upon The God of ALL the Earth!!

All that we need comes from Him. He created every single one of us. He loves every single one of us. He sent His son, Jesus, to die for every single one of us. In the distress we are brining to on another for the sake of our own glory, the only way that we will see His hand at work is if we truly understand that as believers in Christ, we are one Body! We are not all hands. We are not all legs. We are not all eyes. We are not all feet. We are not all arms. We are a complete BODY!

Let’s do better y’all! I want to see His glory, not yours? I want to see His hand at work, not yours. I want to see His kindness, more than our kindness. I want to see His hand in bringing all things He has called His children to do to victory. Let His work be seen among us, not our own. Let Him rebuild us. Let His face shine upon us – so that our peace will be real. Let’s allow His grace to come in to us. We don’t deserve His help, but He grants it to us when we are doing all for the sake of His glory. All that we are and all that we do has to be for His glory and not for our own. Only then will we see His favor in our lives.

WILDERNESS. Just as he delivered the Jews, He will deliver us if only we can stop trying to meet our needs but, rather, seek to glorify Him.

Praying that our ways and our hearts will change so that the favor of Our Lord can rest upon us. Praying that He will replace all of our current bad days with good days. Praying that we will know how to let Him rule over us and bless us; and that we will cease trying to rule over one another and fill our minds with the lie that we are the ones that bring blessing to one another. He is wonderful!! He is awesome!! He is all powerful!! He is ALWAYS right! Praying that the Body of Christ will yield to all that we need from Him and that we will all be praying every single day that He would hide us behind His cross and fill us afresh with His Holy Spirit!

A Lil’ Bump in the Road

Today, I went over to my house to pick up a few things that I keep forgetting that I need. Isn’t that something?!?!

On Tuesday, February 16th – my house was one of the houses in Humble, TX that flooded. It didn’t flood in just one room, it was our entire house. It was an interesting moment because the ice storm had taken our lights and water – we stayed at home that night with the gas fireplace on. When the electricity came back on in the house I grew up in, we headed over there to have heat and warm up! Just about 3 hours later, when we went back home … because the electricity was on … we opened the door and water just poured out from the door. Just about 3 inches deep.

I think that I was convinced that only the floors were damaged, until we found the ceiling area from which the water was pouring. Insurance adjuster walked in three days later and let us know that it was the entire house. Exterior walls would be removed for about 2 feet from the ground. All floors had to be taken out, except the tile (kitchen and bathrooms). Water mitigation would have to be first — drying the space and sanitizing it to protect from mold and mildew – before any restoration could happen.

Here’s the truth – we have had no reason to be distressed, not even for one minute. The Home Owners Insurance that our mortgage company chose for us is awesome and we do have the family home, that I grew up in, to live in while all of the restoration, repairs and replacements are done.

Floors Had to be Taken Out

So … the virus is alive; hate in the USA is alive; division in the Body of Christ is alive … these are true. But more that all of this … The Power of The Lord is Alive! The Faithfulness of The Lord is Alive: The Provision of The Lord is Alive! The Peace of The Lord is Alive! The Joy of the Lord is Alive!! Because of Him …. it all just feels like a small bump in the road.

I was thinking about David … God’s chosen one. He surely did not did not do everything perfectly – but he submitted Himself to God’s call on his life and in the midst of great difficulty – he just kept praising God, knowing that God had his back. And so do I.

All exterior walls and some interior walls will have to be restored
  • The house has flooded and I can’t go home … but He is my God and my life – my time — yes I am in His hands!
  • The insurance company has to ensure we have what is needed, and we’ve gotta wait! … but He is the one I trust — yes, my life is in His hands!
  • I wanted to push all of the people to get this done in a hurry … but He tells me to stop fighting and remember that He is my God!

I trust Him y’all! I really do trust ONLY Him! What I need, He will provide. What I need to do, He will give me the wisdom and strength to do it. What I need to be, He will break me – melt me – mold me – fill me! There’s just no way at all that I cannot step right on over any bump in the road. And, let me just encourage you … for His truth is for all of His children.

Victory Shall Be Ours!

Right now- all around us – we hear hateful words and thoughts and those words and thoughts are leading to death, destruction, terror, deception, fear and DISUNITY.  It can drive a person mad!!  But you know what?!? God is not oblivious to the plight of His people.

God is not affiliated with any party or politician; God is not aligned more with one race of people than another; God has no allegiance to any political platform. The foolishness of man; the wickedness of people — these things are blowing our minds, driving us to anger, moving us to fear, stirring great confusion .. but God’s children are connected to great power than just cannot be defeated!

He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He will deliver those who have placed their trust in the name of His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.

I’m rejoicing RIGHT NOW because though I don’t know when, I do know that God’s got this!  God’s got all of it – and victory is on the way!!!!

All around this globe in the midst of the enemy’s work – The Gospel of the Lord will be preached and people will be delivered out of the hand of the enemy AND He, The Almighty God, will reckon with the enemies of His people and the enemies of The Gospel!  And THAT, my friends, is real victory!  To my Christian friends – my brothers and sisters in Christ: Hold your peace!  Let the Lord fight your battle! Victory Shall Be Ours!

I’m singing this right now! “If I hold my peace, let the Lord fight my battles; I know that the victory shall be mine, victory shall be mine. If I walk upright, all my battles He will fight; I know that the victory shall be mine, victory shall be mine.” – Rev. James Cleveland

Purity & Love

To be sinless is impossible for us in this human form — but we can attain to godliness, moral purity and agape love. Our allegiance to the King of Kings demands utter devotion to Him and radical love toward people. He tells us to be perfect – not in vanity; not walking in our own righteousness. He tells us as children of God, who understand our complete reliance on Him, that we should endeavor to carry about His image in a worthy manner.

Clean Hands

We have to keep our moral compass before us at all times; not straying to the right or left. We’ve got to keep Calvary before us to remind us of the extend of the love that has been shown toward us. Why? So that we will show others true love — the love of Christ.

Pure Heart

The Savior is telling us once again to imitate Him — to be like Him — to conform to His likeness. We are admonished toward purity and love. What does it look like? Keeping our word; returning good for evil; praying for all people – especially for those who do not know Him; love those who are not like us – ethnicity, political party, denomination and more; extend to others grace and mercy – as it has been extended to us … and So Much More! Our lives should be such a reflection of Him that they can see Him in us everywhere we go!

True Love

I do pray that Our Father will show us the way to godliness. We strive to get there through rules; but the truth that we know is that this is a matter of the heart. If we ask Him sincerely, He will place within us a desire to love people as He has loved us. Sinless perfection is only found in Christ! God can help us to live in perfect love in this world. He can help us to choose to keep our hands cleand and our hearts pure …. just cry out to him and He can and will truly lead and guide you.
