Instead of rejoicing, with the desire of the lost to hear the truth, the jews despised sharing what they perceived as ‘their truth‘ with anyone outside of their people.
When we proclaim God’s truth concerning salvation, it should be with the hope that people will be drawn in – desiring to know the truth. It is not for us to decide who hears – only that we proclaim. Our attitude toward the lost must be that God loves them and thus we too must love them. Tattoos, short skirts, sordid pasts, etc. should never keep us from sharing the truth. Our truth is the truth meant for the whole world.
I mean … think about it. People don’t hide a lamp under a bowl. They put it on a lampstand. Then the light shines for everyone!! He gave us this gift, our salvation through Jesus Christ, to tell all people the Good News about the riches Christ has. (Matthew 5:15; Ephesians 3: 8)
Father help us not to be selfish with our truth and our faith. Place in us a desire that all men should know and honor You!
Often, when I hear people speak of the favor of the Lord; they speak in tones that say, “If I do this His way and am in His will – this will be easy street!” I’ve even had people to say to me that when they are trying to accomplish something for God and it seems that they are facing too much difficulty and feeling like they are putting up a fight, they take that as a sign that they are not going God’s way. This, however, is not a biblical truth.
The Lord can speak to you assuring you victory in a certain situation but that does not ever mean that you won’t have to work for it. It does not mean that you won’t have to even fight for it. As I look back over my own life, I can testify that where I am today as the maidservant of the Lord did not come without lots of opposition and some pretty intense fighting!!
I am not aware of what the Lord has promised you or what word He has sent someone to speak over or into your life. But whatever it is – you have to believe that it is worth a fight and you have to resolve to be strong and courageous; standingfirm until your victory is won! His promises are yes and Amen! – but He never promised any of us an easy road. If the Lord said it – it is a sure thing! Believe it is so! The enemy and those who are being used by the enemy would love to thwart God’s plans for your life! Never forget that the God who has made the promise never ever fails — never give up without a fight!
Today, I went over to my house to pick up a few things that I keep forgetting that I need. Isn’t that something?!?!
On Tuesday, February 16th – my house was one of the houses in Humble, TX that flooded. It didn’t flood in just one room, it was our entire house. It was an interesting moment because the ice storm had taken our lights and water – we stayed at home that night with the gas fireplace on. When the electricity came back on in the house I grew up in, we headed over there to have heat and warm up! Just about 3 hours later, when we went back home … because the electricity was on … we opened the door and water just poured out from the door. Just about 3 inches deep.
I think that I was convinced that only the floors were damaged, until we found the ceiling area from which the water was pouring. Insurance adjuster walked in three days later and let us know that it was the entire house. Exterior walls would be removed for about 2 feet from the ground. All floors had to be taken out, except the tile (kitchen and bathrooms). Water mitigation would have to be first — drying the space and sanitizing it to protect from mold and mildew – before any restoration could happen.
Here’s the truth – we have had no reason to be distressed, not even for one minute. The Home Owners Insurance that our mortgage company chose for us is awesome and we do have the family home, that I grew up in, to live in while all of the restoration, repairs and replacements are done.
So … the virus is alive; hate in the USA is alive; division in the Body of Christ is alive … these are true. But more that all of this … The Power of The Lord is Alive! The Faithfulness of The Lord is Alive: The Provision of The Lord is Alive! The Peace of The Lord is Alive! The Joy of the Lord is Alive!! Because of Him …. it all just feels like a small bump in the road.
I was thinking about David … God’s chosen one. He surely did not did not do everything perfectly – but he submitted Himself to God’s call on his life and in the midst of great difficulty – he just kept praising God, knowing that God had his back. And so do I.
The house has flooded and I can’t go home … but He is my God and my life – my time — yes I am in His hands!
The insurance company has to ensure we have what is needed, and we’ve gotta wait! … but He is the one I trust — yes, my life is in His hands!
I wanted to push all of the people to get this done in a hurry … but He tells me to stop fighting and remember that He is my God!
I trust Him y’all! I really do trust ONLY Him! What I need, He will provide. What I need to do, He will give me the wisdom and strength to do it. What I need to be, He will break me – melt me – mold me – fill me! There’s just no way at all that I cannot step right on over any bump in the road. And, let me just encourage you … for His truth is for all of His children.
Right now- all around us – we hear hateful words and thoughts and those words and thoughts are leading to death, destruction, terror, deception, fear and DISUNITY. It can drive a person mad!! But you know what?!? God is not oblivious to the plight of His people.
God is not affiliated with any party or politician; God is not aligned more with one race of people than another; God has no allegiance to any political platform. The foolishness of man; the wickedness of people — these things are blowing our minds, driving us to anger, moving us to fear, stirring great confusion .. but God’s children are connected to great power than just cannot be defeated!
He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He will deliver those who have placed their trust in the name of His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ.
I’m rejoicing RIGHT NOW because though I don’t know when, I do know that God’s got this! God’s got all of it – and victory is on the way!!!!
All around this globe in the midst of the enemy’s work – The Gospel of the Lord will be preached and people will be delivered out of the hand of the enemy AND He, The Almighty God, will reckon with the enemies of His people and the enemies of The Gospel! And THAT, my friends, is real victory! To my Christian friends – my brothers and sisters in Christ: Hold your peace! Let the Lord fight your battle! Victory Shall Be Ours!
I’m singing this right now! “If I hold my peace, let the Lord fight my battles; I know that the victory shall be mine, victory shall be mine. If I walk upright, all my battles He will fight; I know that the victory shall be mine, victory shall be mine.” – Rev. James Cleveland
When the Lord offers us eternity and more than this – when He offers to make us vessels of eternity that can effect the lives of others — why don’t we grab hold?
We are so focused on the physical, that we cannot see what is in front of us in the spiritual realm. We are worried about the labor involved in taking care of our most basic needs — forgetting that our most basic needs are being met all of the time through no effort on our part.
We lose focus of the spiritual need that we have; His gift of what our strong inner desires and our deepest need should be – deep desire within each of us to be in a relationship with the true and living God.
The Lord offers us satisfaction of the strong inner desires and deepest needs He has put in our heart, and then He says that satisfaction will become a well within us that others can draw from … so that they can receive this same satisfaction. This satisfaction is salvation! Reconciliation to the Father! Satisfaction! We miss the point – and focus on the labor involved in the mundane. We completely miss the point!
I am praying for the Father to help our hearts see when He is offering more than our finite mind can conceive. I am asking that he will never let us choose to grasp the mundane when He has offered the supernatural – the eternal. Praying that He will teach us to hear Him well and not to only listen for what we long to hear! Praying that He will help us to seek for our satisfaction in Him alone.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.--Romans 8:38-39
