Servant Leader – Jeremy Chinn

My youngest 40 week-er is crossing over today!!!! Whew! What mama prepares for her baby to become a grown man. Ok, ok, ok, yes he has been an adult for about 7 years … but 25 just makes a mama’s heart beat faster!!

Jeremy has amazing goals in life. He doesn’t believe that anyone can get where they’re going if they’re not willing to bear the weight. He doesn’t believe that anyone can get where they’re going if they wont help anybody else. He’s not a quitter and he always has a heart for folk who need help that he can give.

I’ve loved to watch his strong leadership style … you see he is good at reflecting strength and service to anyone around him, which helps them to do some of the same things. This is a beautiful Biblical truth. There is just no trouble free road out there. There is just no way to obey God completely without loving others – putting ourselves in places to help people.

Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, “How can I help?” Those of us who are strong and able in the faith need to step in and lend a hand to those who falter, and not just do what is most convenient for us. Strength is for service, not status. Each one of us needs to look after the good of the people around us, asking ourselves, “How can I help?” Romans 15

As people who profess belief in Christ – our hearts must at all time seek to love people and help people even if it costs us time, money, peace, quiet … even if it just Gets On Our Nerves! It’s not easy to commit to help people who don’t love you and who will enjoy using you for their own good and not for your own. But we have to have the wisdom to believe that no matter what we give of ourselves, God will keep us! He has already promised not to leave or forsake His children … so what do we fear.

A friend loves you all the time, but a brother was born to help in times of trouble. Proverbs 17:17

Jeremy’s love for others exceeds most young men his age. When difficulties come his way – he takes a deep breath and just dives on in … knowing that His King has him and won’t let him go! Ain’t that amazing for a 25 year old . man!! He has the wisdom and courage to trust God with his heart; with his needs; and with his entire life … because he has no doubt that he has The Lord’s heart; that The King will provide his needs; and that The One who gives life has his life in control!

Happy Birthday Jeremy!! Mom’s baby boy!

I am thanking God every single day for the amazing blessing He gave me in you! You are true joy to my heart! You and I will cook Peruvian food this time as soon as you get home. I’m ready to go shop for shoes too!

  1. This is the life and attitude of the true Christian. Too many pew warmers in church… too many “leaders” who won’t share… may God help us to walk in His ways that His kingdom will come… that’s a surety…
