Christ’s Love …

Some have experienced difficulty in life that brings them to the bottom. But, believers in Christ, never fear a loss of hope. Never have a thought that you’ll be nothing. Whether your issue is transgression or despair, the LOVE of our Our Savior, Jesus ( who is the Christ), will alleviate the pain.

and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. Ephesians 3:19

Above everything else that you may be seeking to solve your problems, you must never forget the amazing love that He has for His people! The prominence of this love; His love’s greatness … it immerses us in and lifts us into the peace of mind and the splendor that comes from His Kingdom! Cry out to Him for this love and you will grasp the truth of it.

Christ’s love is greater than anyone can ever know, but I pray that you will be able to know that love. Then you can be filled with everything God has for you. Ephesians 3:19

His love for us is a promise to us. That is a beautiful thing! People can judge you for sure; they can rip their love from you as they sometimes feel you don’t deserve it. But His love for us is a promise to us! And His promises are true!

AND TO KNOW THIS LOVE THAT SURPASSES KNOWLEDGE – THAT YOU MAY BE FILLED TO THE MEASURE OF ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD. Ephesians 3:19

Yes! His love is something we can never just understand on our own, but He’ll let us know enough of it if we talk to Him about it. Even more than a desire to know what the power of His love looks like, we should desire to feel it, to experience it, to allow it to change our lives! His love will ensure that you are filled with His fullness. Our Father desires to give us the fullness of His love to our full capacity; in a way that fills us to the utmost of our capacity to receive it and our strengths to serve and submit to Him fully. His love gives us everything that we need; every power and every ease. His grace alone fills us completely and helps us to reach a deeper level with Him.

and that you may come to know practically AND through personal experience, the love of Christ which far surpasses mere knowledge without experience, that you may be filled up throughout your being to all the fullness of God; so that you may have the richest experience of God’s presence in your lives, completely filled and flooded with God Himself. Ephesians 3:19

Father, I lift us all up to you, thanking you for your amazing love for us in all of our weakness!! In this world, trials come and your children can feel defeated, but we know that Your love is real! Help us to remember at all times that we know Your love better when we let everything turn us back to you. Help us to remember that when filled with your love, victory comes! Fill us, O Lord; Flood us, O Lord … with Your presence and power!

His Name … Our Fortress

A recent experience had me at a combination of angry, disappointed and sad.

Have you ever seen the battle that a believer has to endure with other believers that think they are on a higher level than them? OK, let me make this a little more clear. Have you ever had a friend that is a new believer or an un-discipled person? Have you opened your mouth to compare them to you and let them know often that they need to live better … you know, to live like you?!?!

I recently experienced seeing this, and it broke my heart! I was listening to the insults and criticism of Christians in a family completely insult and criticize a man. I could see that he too was a Christian, but whatever these people knew about his life were giving them a strong way to make him feel even less loved. They weren’t doing it to correct or lead him, they were doing it to make themselves feel higher. He let them know he had been so attacked by them for a long time, but never supported or led by them. Y’all, I was praying for God’s comfort for this guy and I did not have permission or rights to step in, but I was so very sad!

Amazingly wonderful, though, was what happened next. He was finally able to jump in to the conversation. He let them know that he knew about his life mistakes, but that He had called upon the Lord for forgiveness and had walked away from much, even though they did not seem happy for His freedom at all. He believed in God and was calling on God daily. He also let them know that they were just asking him to be like them and not like The Lord. He told them that He only depended upon the name of the Lord, and He knows that when He calls on The Lord, he is safe and protected. He gave them an example of how he cries out to The Lord, and told them that He’s experienced being saved from everything, even the people that were criticizing him. He told them that The Lord’s provision helped him to forgive them and, in fact, not hold anything abuse or criticism against anyone. He wept a bit, but let them know again that everything that he needs is in God and not in them. Y’all, all of my sadness moved to joy!

Proverbs 18: 10

I don’t know what you’re facing but no matter what it is He will protect you! Our Father protects us from the enemy always. The enemy can be quite crafty; bringing to us division, criticism, fear, weakness, pain, sadness, weariness, pursuit and so much more. But Our Father protects us with His power, His mercy, His grace, His love, His kindness, His healing, His presence and so much more! All that He is is enough to sustain His people. Our Father is insurmountable and indestructible.

Call on His name! He is sufficient for you, His child! As a believer your life devotion is to Him; you can count on His protection and provision. Run In To His Name – You’ll be safe!

El Shaddai, I am crying out to you to comfort me and all of my sisters and brothers in You from so many things that the world is bringing upon us to attack us and put weight upon our faith. Adonai, we yield ourselves to Your word and Your will and know that you are our Lord and our Master. When we need to be provided for or cared for in any way, we know that You are Jehovah-Raah. When we are ill in any way, we know that You are Jehovah-Rapha. When sin rises up within us or upon us we know You are Jehovah Tsidkenu. We run in to You even now, Father, because we know that in You we are safe! You are our peace, our provision, our mercy, our grace. Your presence in our lives gives us more than we could ever ask or think! You cannot be defeated, so I thank You for covering us with Your presence and for filling us with Your Holy Spirit!

5 months!!! (and 4 days)

Y’all it has been 5 months since the surgery and I have not had one seizure!!!!!! Hallelujah! I’m so grateful! If I had 10,000 tongues they would not be nearly enough.

So, here’s what has happened –

I’ve driven … beyond the doctor’s rule! LOL! We had to go to Dallas and Lloyd had an eye issue, so I had to take over and I loved it. I can’t drive at night though, very difficult still for me to see curves. But I can drive during the day!

My vocabulary is getting better. I can have a basic conversation … well I can have any conversation, but when it gets more detailed or deep my vocabulary can be entertaining for the listener. My sons say that my go to phrase is “Blah. Blah. Blah.” when I can’t think of a word to say. LOL!

I’m cooking and cleaning at home which Lloyd and the boys are quite happy about. Jeremy was home for Valentine’s day and was very glad about how good his mama is doing; because he could eat what he liked!

Here’s what I’m dealing with:

  • My short term memory has not healed yet. I cannot remember some things but I try and I’m using the wise practice of writing things down and/or putting them in Evernote or something like that.
  • I’m having vertigo quite often, but it is not stopping me. I just have to stop when necessary and be really careful not to move too fast
  • The nerves on the left side of the face are regenerating which makes everything …. interesting. Feels funny; very difficult to explain
  • Faces and names are still a bit difficult. I’m remembering some without a problem, but there are some names or faces that I just am not able to pull up quickly

My most amazing and joyful blessing is that for the first time in one year I was able to return to my church choir!! I loved it! I couldn’t remember every single word of any song but I remembered every melody (which I still think is quite interesting) I think I was alright! Lloyd has been mentioning to me often that I hum or sing melodies perfectly even though the words don’t always come.

The seizures have ended! I believe it with all of my heart. And as for the rest of the recovery … I’m getting there, y’all! If you’ve never trusted the Lord like you should … get to it. I’m returning to our work in Africa very, very soon! God is so merciful!! Next surgical update is April … I know the neurosurgeon’s mind will be blown with what God is doing in me!

Oh, my Dear Lord, I give You thanks with all of my heart! I will continue to tell all who are around me of the amazing things you have done in me! The doctors said one year, but You had another plan! Oh! Bless Your Name!! I will continually devote myself to speaking to and listening to You, because all that you have for me to do in the world is the most amazing thing! I’m giving You thanks, because I know this healing is Your will for my life! I’ll sit at Your feet and listen with my whole heart! I’ll yield my will unto You so that You can use me!!!

Holding my brand new great-nephew, Bodhi James. Isn’t he absolutely adorable!

The Lord Bless You and Keep You

When I was a little kid, the benediction hymn sang in church very often was The Lord Bless You and Keep You, from the Baptist Hymnal, based on Numbers 6: 24 – 26:

The Lord bless you and keep you.
The Lord lift his countenance upon you,
and give you peace,
and give you peace.
The Lord make his face to shine upon you,
and be gracious, unto you
and be gracious;
the Lord be gracious, gracious unto you.
Amen.

OK. As a child, I thought it was so beautiful, but I had no idea what it was! So glad that I know what this prayer means now. Grateful for the Lord’s favor upon me. Where would I be … What would I be, without The Lord?

The beauty of this is that it was a blessing & benediction for the people of God! Are you a believer in Jesus, who is the Christ, now?!?! Are you a follower of God?!?! If yes, this means you!

I don’t care what you are facing, you just can’t forget that Our God has His blessings for you. (Read the Word of God and understand this) Our Father’s blessings are poured out.

Think about these things: His face shines upon us, which means evil is destroyed by His presence in our lives – His presence is so real! His countenance lifted upon us means strength and courage; God’s strength is so real! His grace is favor. His shalom (peace, fullness, healthiness, happiness, euphoria); means removal of aggravation; His shalom is a wonderful sight of every single one of God’s blessings for His children!

Call on the Lord and listen completely. Call upon Him to bless you, keep you, lift His countenance upon you, give you peace, make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you. It might not happen in the way you want it to or in the time you want it to, but His promises just do not fail.

Father, Your grace and Your love are what keep my mind and my heart at peace. I just have to thank you for granting me the power of Your Holy Spirit because no matter what I’m standing on or facing, I know that all is well. I’ll admit that it hasn’t always gone the way I desired, but I testify with great joy … You have always worked my situations out for the sake of Your glory!! Your grace, Your mercy and Your love are the greatest blessings I’ve ever received and I will praise You always, for the rest of my life!

Calling Out To Him .. In Times Of Trouble

I was reading Genesis 32 this morning and was just rejoicing over the wonderful truth that He is deliverer to His children! (read Genesis 32:9-12 to get an image)

Have you ever felt like the Lord made a promise to you? I mean specific promises at some time in your life? Every promise from the Lord in the Bible is true, He never fails and His Word is Truth. But what about a prayer that you have lifted to Him and heard His voice, knowing what He has for you …

OK, I know that this is difficult to hear well. Here’s my deal … in my other life the difficulty was just tremendous, beyond anything I’d understand or was able to bear. There were people led by the enemy that were determined to destroy me, not just physically/mentally; but they wanted to confuse my faith. Can you imagine that? I was in despair BUT I was so clear about God’s guidance and promises to me and, praise God, I was living in obedience and submission to Him – don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t in perfection but I knew who My Father was and had a desire to serve Him well. I had been shown by The Lord that my life would bring Him glory, so I had the good sense to ask God for peace in a certain type of way. I asked Him to protect me from the enemy and put me in a path that would make everyone around me so aware of His power and faithfulness. I really did tell Him what I hoped for. About 2 months later it came out of nowhere! I knew for sure that the only way it could have come is that He sent it. In my case the enemy was doing what he is good at, he was causing me to feel weak, afraid, and lost. When I went to the Word of God and saw a particular promise –

Pray to the Lord, and he will hear you. He will save you from all your troubles.

Psalm 34:17

I cried out to my Father believing with no doubt at all that He heard me. I knew what I needed and asked him from deliverance from what I specifically was facing and I’m telling you that His deliverance came and He spoke to me when I was thanking Him, letting me know that what He promises His children is always true!

I have friends dealing with marital abuse, job issues, health issues, mental issues and more … and I know that the despair has made many just want to give up, but I’m telling you from my own experience that the promises in God’s Word are true. When life issues come, it can feel like nothing will go well. Do you know what I mean? When we are living a life of obedience and call upon the Lord, all that is difficult will work out for our good … He will save us from out troubles. Now … you saw that it took 2 months for my deliverance, your wait might be shorter or longer, but I’m telling you He will save you!

There are issues that can frighten us completely, but, as children of the Most High God we have guidance from Him to cry out to Him! He does not fail! His promises are true!

Father, my thanks to You cannot be nearly enough for how you’ve kept me! I am completely undeserving of Your faithfulness, Your mercy and Your grace; but You just keep showing it to me in amazing ways! I believe what You’ve told me about what my life will be for the sake of Your glory; and, when the enemy speaks to me I will tell him to get behind me because I know that he cannot and will not prevail. Thank You Lord! I won’t be afraid because I know that Your lovingkindness and faithfulness will come my way!
