730 days …

Sometimes things cross your mind .. and then your serious, passionate, loud, unstoppable THANK YOU LORD begins … again!! For His goodness and His mercy toward me, I Offer Praise!

The first grand-mal seizure I ever had was 730 days (2 years) ago. That seizure is when this journey began …

Lloyd and I had spent one week in Denver with our team; flown to New York to help Jeremy move there for his internship & a ministry event; and finally, returned from New York to Denver. We rented a car, which I drove as usual, and were on our way to the home of dear friends, Mark & Priscilla. We talked about what the coming days would cover and were preparing ourselves for what we needed to pray about. Suddenly, Lloyd says, I stopped speaking. When Lloyd looked over I was stiff, shaking, and unconscious behind the wheel of the car on E470 driving 75MPH. Lloyd pulled himself together, got control of the wheel of the car which kept us from crashing in a terrible way. Into an exit sign we went … which I never knew until Lloyd told me much later.

This is the last photo of me that was taken just weeks before that car accident.

Much more to the story … but … 730 days ago THIS journey began!!

El Elyon! El Shaddai! Adonai! Yahweh! Jehovah Shammah! El Olam! Elohim! If this girl had 10,000 tongues I just would not be able to thank You enough!! Lloyd wouldn’t be able to thank You enough! My sons nor my daughter would not be able to thank You enough! My mother, sisters, and family would not be able to thank You enough! My dear friends, especially the ones who met us at that hospital, would not be able to thank Our God ENOUGH!!

All I’ve had on my mind since that first seizure is that I had to be able to carry out the work I had been called to. I never had the passion for anything other than to be His servant. I never wanted anything more than to speak His word to the lost and to encourage His children with the truths that He speaks that can change lives. I just want to serve The Lord that I love! And here I am …. here I am STILL!

730 days ago … But I’m still here! I’m still in service to The Most High God! Hallelujah!!!

AND …. in case you’ve forgotten … Surgery on October 14, 2018 and not one more seizure in 90 days!! Thank You Lord!! Thank You Lord!!

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul will make its boast in the Lord ; The humble will hear it and rejoice. O magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together.

Psalms 34:1-3

What Are You Proud Of?

Ephesians 6: 4

In the Christian life, there is a truth that we don’t like to admit …. We Think We’re Better Than Someone!  I mean not me … but y’all!  LOL!!

Recently a friend of mine was teaching from Revelations and he was so open with us about the fact that we, children of God, have a weakness about thinking that people who are not like us are worse or less than us.

If you’re making a commitment to walk with people who are trying to build their relationship with Christ or with people who want to know Him, you will encounter people who struggle with a sin or temptation; probably a sin or temptation that you too have struggled with.  Be careful not to think too much of you. Don’t ever forget that it was God’s work in you which allowed you to overcome.

When I first became active in ministry, I remember having aview that we needed to reach every single person.  It was mostly because I hadn’t always walkedfully with The Lord, so I believed that the only way it could happen was if ourdoors were open to others.  I learnedlater that it was the power of God that moved His Holy Spirit to open people’seyes and moved their hearts.  But I alsolearned that if new believers in Christ never saw someone that reflected whatOur Savior is, they’d not move closer to Him.

I am known by those who have come in close relationship with me to be REAL! I’m not afraid to tell my story and talk about the weaknesses and sins that I have overcome.  I’m not afraid to talk about the things I struggle with right now, that the Lord is bringing me through.  Here’s the deal – I just don’t find myself better than anyone! My Victory is in Jesus, He is my Savior forever. “He sought me and He bought me with His redeeming blood. He loved me before I knew Him and all my love is due Him. He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.” (I know! I love hymns)

Don’t compare yourself with others. Just look at your own work to see if you have done anything to be proud of.

Galatians 6:4

Father, Create in us hearts that are not haughty and prideful but that are clean and pure. Give us the hearts of flesh so that we will not think ourselves above any man. Humble us when we puff ourselves up. Teach us to walk with one another and to gird up one another in Christian love. Remind us that the most important work that we ever do is submitting ourselves to You; believing and submitting to The Savior, Jesus Christ; and yielding our hearts and minds to The Holy Spirit.  Having You in us is the only thing that we can ever be proud of!

51 ….

I’ll start this off my saying to my great-niece, Brittny … “Tag, I’m it!” LOL! She knows what I mean! Love you, BK!

51 years since the day that I was born. I must testify that it has been an amazing and wonderful thing to walk with Him; to talk with Him; to tell Him that I am His own! The joy we share as we tarry there (in His presence) non other has ever known! (Do any of you know this hymn? )

I woke up knowing what God is expecting from me and knowing that He will strengthen me and guide me to get it done because it is for the sake of His glory! Knowing that my life has Kingdom purpose just blows my mind!

Many times any of us can feel that we are not worthy to do what God wants done. But He doesn’t call us to do anything because we are worthy, but because it is His plan! The deal is that Our Father has created each one of us anew as the Holy Spirit within us moved us to believe in Christ! Amazing! Our Salvation then moves our hearts to want to serve Him with every gift and talent that Our Creator has given us! Amazing! Our lives are a free gift from the Most High God. Our lives are moved by His power. Our life purpose; our calling; our passion …. all of these things are for the sake of His Kingdom .. not for the sake of our own glory.

My brother-in-law, Dr. Reginald W. DeVaughn Sr., preached an amazing message on New Years Eve. He made it very clear that when we say that we want to be successful we cannot be misled to believe that that means we’ve made lots of money, received lots of praise from some man, or even that we live or drive something better than others. We must understand that being successful means that we have given the lives that He has given us Back To Him!

Each year is a huge blessing to me! I get so excited just to think about the fact the The Lord, Himself, created me. I wake up on my birthday and am overjoyed that The Creator of the Universe, formed me specially! (2 Corinthians 5: 17) I get excited further when I reflect on the fact that the reason I am in Christ Jesus, is not because of my ability to believe … but because of God’s power and His plan to redeem me.

Thank You, God, for allowing me to survive another year and to dwell on this earth for 51 years! Thank you for making me sure that I was to live a life of full time ministry, even when I had other plans! Thank you for my husband who has been with me for more than 1/2 of my life! Thank you for blessing me with a ministry partner, Lloyd Chinn, who is also my Christian life partner. Thank You for creating me as a woman. Thank You for allowing your Holy Spirit to move in my heart and lead me to Jesus Christ. Thank You for moving my heart to submit and to serve you for the rest of my life! Lord, I’m having a Happy Birthday … because You love me; You walk with me; You talk with me; You tell me that I am Your own!

God has made us what we are. In Christ Jesus, God made us new people so that we would spend our lives doing the good things he had already planned for us to do.

Ephesians 2: 10

Resolutions for 2019 based in Memories from 2018

These lessons from 2018 are some that I learned; was reminded of; consulted others to do; or, keep on my living list. I pray that the list is a blessing to you!

  1. Read the entire Bible through the year. There are many plans to guide you, but just walk through the Word so that you can know Our God deeply. (2 Tim. 3:16-17; … and so many more!**A great reading plan  is https://my.bible.com/reading-plans/2053-as-it-happened
  2. Know God deeply so that you can share who He is with everybody! (1 Peter 3:15 … and so many more!)
  3. Trust His Faithfulness. This is the only way to testify about it! (Proverbs 3: 5-6 … and so many more!)
  4. Live in Joy! Happiness is based upon an event; chemicals; muscles; nerves in our lives … but not joy! Joy has nothing to do with happiness, joy is a feeling produced by the Holy Spirit! In other words joy is from seeing the beauty of our Savior, Jesus Christ as we pay attention to His Word and His Work. (James 1:2 … and so many more!)
  5. Family: Appreciate and Love them. Yes, I know that you can get disappointed but always know that you cannot have positive effect on people you separate from or hate. (Proverbs 22:6; Genesis 2:24; Psalm 128: 3; Joshua 24: 15; 1 Timothy 3: 14; Ephesians 3: 14-15; … and so many more!)
  6. Do What He’s Called You To Do! It’ll be greatly above your personal skills and knowledge, but He will use you to do it if you submit to His power. (Colossians 4:17 … and so many more!)
  7. Enjoy your opportunities. Sometimes weird events or unknown folk will make you want to run! Don’t run! Step in and be amazed by what God will do in and for you! (Romans 8: 28 … and so many more!)
  8. Be healed. Healing from illness and also healing from being hurt. Hurt happens – don’t wallow in it. Give the hurts to God and allow Him to work in you. A healed you will bless others – a hurting you will hurt others. (Psalm 147: 3; Psalm 6: 2; 1 Peter 2: 24; Isaiah 53: 5; … and so many more! … study the Word of God, you’ll be encouraged!)
  9. Be life. Speak in a way that a gives life to people. Act in ways that bring life to people’s situations. (John 15: 12, 13; Matthew 5: 16; Romans 12: 13; … and so many more!
  10. Be love. In situations where you might be tempted to lash out; to get vengeance; etc – choose to be love. Care – really care – for other people. (1 John 4: 7-8 … and so many more!)

  12. Don’t think more of yourself than you ought. At the end of the day it is His mercy; His grace; and His gifting – humility is necessary and healthy. (Philippians 2: 3-4; 1 Peter 5: 5-6; Micah 6: 8 … and so many more!)
  13. Discover why God created you and walk in it. No other human can do what God has created you to do – so do it! (Psalm 8: 4-6; Ephesians 1: 11-12; 1 Peter 2: 9 … and so many more!
  14. Celebrate other people’s Christ lives. When the faith of your friends increase; when a person accepts Christ as Savior; when a person experiences God’s faithfulness in difficulty; and many more examples! (Colossians 3: 12-14; John 15: 12-15; … and so many more!)
  15. Understand what a big payoff is. A few examples: His favor; His grace; His mercy; etc. Money and promotion are good … buy they don’t even lightly compare to His hand on your life! (Joshua 1: 9; Lamentations 3: 22 – 23; Matthew 11: 28; … and so many more!)
  16. Ask for more grace. Extend more grace. Grow in His grace. (2 Corinthians 12:8-9; Ephesians 6:7; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Peter 4:10; … and so many more!)
  17. Live in His image. When others see you, they should know you live for Him. (Genesis 1: 26-27; 1 Corinthians 11:7; … and so many more!)
  18. Speak in His image. Speak truth. When others hear you speak, they should know you live for Him. Be honest. Speak the Truth – the Word of God.  (1 John 3:18, 4:6; John 4:24; … and so many more!)
